“Service From the Heart”
President's Message
Dear Friends and Community Members
It is an honor to serve as President of the Kiwanis Club of Sweetwater. As an educator in National City, I’ve witnessed firsthand how powerful it can be when people come together in support of children and families — and that’s exactly what Kiwanis is all about. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time.
Our club received its charter in 1974, becoming the first morning service club in National City. For more than fifty years, we have carried forward our motto — Service From the Heart — through programs that make a tangible difference in the lives of young people in our community. Each year, we recognize Distinguished Scholars, award college scholarships to Key Club seniors, purchase sleeping bags for sixth-grade camp, and spread kindness through holiday giving and youth sponsorships. With the help of the National City Host Lions Club, we also provide clothing and uniforms to students in the National School District.
This year, our club’s goals are to grow our membership, launch a new website, create a shared calendar, and better capture data about our impact — ensuring that our legacy of service continues for years to come. We invite you to join us in this meaningful work.
